Right now, the plan to is to tour the main facility starting at 1 pm on Friday, February 2 nd . If you are interested in attending the tour, please indicate that on the registration form along with how many will be attending or you can email or call Lisa Evans at lisa.evans@dese.mo.gov, to get your name on the list.
We will be emailing out additional information on where to meet, times, etc.
Back by popular demand we will be having an old fashioned Pitch tournament on Friday night of convention. The way the tournament works is a follows:
- We will have multiple games going at once but when the “head table” game is done all others will end at the same time unless there is a tie, one more hand can be played to break it.
-The winning team at each table moves up to the next table and losing teams stay put. The only exception is the losers of the head table will move to the low table and the winners will stay.
-The winners of the head table get to keep their partner, all other tables will switch partners at the end of each game
-All tables will be playing 10 point pitch However we understand there are different variations of the game so the dealer has the ability to change a couple of small rules for the hand they are dealing. (this will be explained better during the tournament)
-Minimum bid is 5 and the first joker played will be high
-Most tables will be playing 4 handed however if we have an odd number we will do some tables of 5 so no one has to sit out
- All players will keep track of their ending score of each game. At the end of the night those scores will be added up and the highest score tally wins. The table you are at at the end of the night has no bearing on the winners.
Games will start at 7pm if you are running late you can still join in. Since the highest score wins, adding players later will not affect the outcome of other player’s chances of winning. If you have never played before don't be bashful, pitch is a fairly easy game to learn and we will be happy to teach you. We look forward to seeing everyone there !
